Baie-D'Urfé

We’re lucky to have Wanda running for Council again. As someone who’s already served two terms, she brings valuable experience and a clear sense of what makes our Town work. I’ve had the chance to work with her both as a councillor and as a fellow resident, and I can honestly say she’s one of the hardest working and most caring people you could hope to have representing us. What you see is what you get with Wanda—straightforward, fair, and deeply committed to doing what’s best for everyone in Baie D'Urfe within the guidelines of preserving and promoting the environmental and social fabric of our Town. She listens with an open mind and always stands by what she believes is right. It’s been a real pleasure to work with her and to see how much she gives of herself for our community.

As Musical Director of the Lakeshore Concert Band, where Wanda Lowensteyn plays oboe and serves on the band's executive committee as a volunteer, I have seen first-hand how she embodies the qualities that make a strong ensemble thrive. In music, success comes from careful listening, cooperation, and a willingness to put the group's goals above individual ones. Wanda brings that same spirit of collaboration and dedication to her civic work, making her an effective and thoughtful leader for our community.

I worked with Wanda Lowensteyn for many years on the Junior Council. Working with Wanda on the JC allowed me to develop skills that I still use today, and her commitment helped me grow as a community member, a student, and as a person. Wanda always has the best interest of the youth of our town in mind, and she works extremely hard advocating for youth activities as well as teaching us to learn to advocate for ourselves. She always encouraged us to get engaged and involved in the town, and helped me feel as though I was truly making a meaningful difference.

I observed Wanda’s work for our town first as a resident and then, during the last four years, I had the chance to see it first hand, as a fellow councillor. A real team player, during our Council discussions, she was always courteous and objective; well-informed, but open to new challenging ideas. 

Wanda’s values and vision are aligned with those of most of us here in Baie-D’Urfé: Protection of the Environment, Importance of BDU as a Community, Youth nurturing, and more. Her leadership and her contribution to the Environment Committee, to the TPAC, and the Junior Council, as well as her active participation in many other activities in our town, give real meaning to the expression “walk the talk”. 

Therefore, I am happy to give my full support to Wanda to renew her mandate as a BDU Municipal Councillor. My vote will go to Wanda.

Wanda Lowensteyn has made an incredible impact over the years at CAMMAC Music Centre, teaching not just one generation—but several! Her ability to connect with our participants of all ages shows just how adaptable and flexible she is. No matter how much things change, Wanda always finds a way to meet the moment with creativity and care. She is also a true team player—someone you can always count on for support, ideas, and a positive attitude. Whether in her workshops or working alongside colleagues, Wanda’s dedication shines through in everything she does.
