My goal is to continue working on infrastructure improvement.
My goal is to keep citizens informed and involved.
My goal is to preserve the ecology and unique character of our community.
Wanda Lowensteyn and her husband chose Baie-D’Urfé in 2002, as the ideal place to live and raise their two sons. With a 4 year term as a municipal councillor already under her belt, she is pleased and honoured to be able to continue giving back to her community for another term as councillor.
In addition to her role as a municipal councillor, Wanda has enthusiastically contributed to a range of community activities over the last 19 years, including: the Baie-D’Urfé COVID Task Force, Baie-D'Urfé library, BDAC swim meets, the creative Banner Project, a video-making club for youth, the parent committee of École Joseph-Henrico, the executive board of the Lakeshore Concert Band, and more. Her work in these areas has consistently reflected a strong belief in the maintenance of community facilities, and clear communication and consultation around the needs of their users.
As an avid camper, Wanda is concerned with the environment and she will advocate for Baie-D'Urfé to grow its role as a municipal leader in the “greening” of its community. Wanda's enthusiasm for conservation also eextends to the character of the town. She lives in one of Baie-D'Urfé's older houses, and while she feels that it is important for the town to develop and advance, it should be done responsibly to preserve the town's variety and character.
With over 30 years as career educator, small business owner, and television producer/co-host, Wanda Lowensteyn brings extensive experience in management, organization, planning, and people skills. From her post-graduate research and Arts background, she applies creative problem-solving to complex situations, and a determination to always find the best possible solutions.
"I am organized, a quick learner, passionate, determined, creative, solution-oriented, a good listener, and I feel that I bring a strong voice to Council when it comes to dealing with issues and working well with people in our community."

Wanda has the heart of a teacher. She was meant to help others and to have a positive impact on the people around her. During my many years working alongside her, she impressed me with her professionalism and her dedication to her students. Going above and beyond was simply Wanda's way of showing her students that they mattered to her and she wanted them to succeed and be happy."
